The Unity Challenge
Thirty days of practicing the kind of life polarization makes difficult.
Learn to listen before defending,
remain loving through disagreement,
repair strained relationships,
and receive what others bring to the Body of Christ.
ONE practice each day.
WALK with a partner.
BEGIN whenever you’re ready.
We believe in unity. But, living it can be difficult.
We may confess the same Lord while struggling to reflect his character toward one another.
When disagreement becomes personal, curiosity can disappear. We defend, withdraw, or reduce someone to a category.
Jesus calls us into a shared life shaped by humility, gentleness, patience, truth, and love. We need practice—and one another—to grow into that life.
A practical next step after the retreat
Developed for Unity in a Polarized World, the Unity Challenge carries the retreat’s four themes into ordinary relationships:
One Body
We belong to one another.
One Lord
We belong to Jesus.
One Way
We become like Jesus.
Mature Body
We become like Jesus together.
Jesus has already made us one Body.
The Spirit gives unity;
growing capacity helps us live it.
Start with three steps
1. CHOOSE A PARTNER.
Invite your spouse, a friend, a fellow pastor, or another Christian to practice with you.
2. COMPLETE ONE PRACTICE EACH DAY.
Read briefly, pray, and take a concrete step in a real relationship.
3. CHECK IN AND KEEP GROWING.
Talk together every six days. Notice what is changing, where repair is needed, and what you want to continue.
5 Movements in 30 Days.
SEE · Days 1–6
See the person, not merely the position.
NOTICE · Days 7–12
Notice your reactions and competing allegiances.
RETURN · Days 13–18
Return to Jesus, take responsibility, and repair.
REMAIN · Days 19–24
Carry conviction and love together under pressure.
BUILD · Days 25–30
Receive, contribute, and serve as the one Body.

You can begin where you are.
Do I need to have attended the retreat?
No. The introduction explains the foundation and how to practice.
How much time does it take?
Most days can begin with ten to fifteen minutes. Plan ahead for meals, longer conversations, and shared service.
What if I miss a day?
Resume where you are. The aim is growing faithfulness, not a perfect record.
Does unity require agreement on everything?
Understanding does not require agreement. The Challenge helps us practice conviction and love together.
Become more like Jesus—together.
Imagine being quicker to listen, more willing to receive correction, more responsible in repair, and better able to serve alongside others.
Come under Jesus.
Remain under Jesus.
Become like Jesus.
