“Unity in a Polarized World”

We are not just living in a divided world—we are living in a polarized one. And that reality is shaping our churches, our leadership, and even our closest relationships. What does it look like to live as united people in a time like this?

Anchored in Ephesians 4:1–6 and the Church of God’s historic calling to be “a united church for a divided world,” our speaker, Michael Guzman, will invite us to move beyond surface-level unity.  He will help us rediscover a deeper, Spirit-formed way of life together—one that can hold tension, cultivate love, and bear witness to the reconciling power of Jesus.

We are excited this year to be holding our retreat at the Cannon Beach Conference Center instead of a hotel.  Our meeting space and many of the deluxe rooms will have an ocean view and this is a Christian Conference Center.

Prices for couples are a little less and we are able to provide four meals for each person.  The cost for a single person is considerably less and there is also opportunity for small children (5 years and under) to come for free.  If you want to bring older children, you will need to call Paula at the District Office for pricing information – (503)-393-3510.

Our speaker this year is Michael Guzman . . .

Michael Guzman makes his home in Bandon, Oregon, where he and his wife, Kimberly, their daughter, Hannah, and his in-laws live as a “family on mission.” As business-owning missionaries to local pet families, they seek to represent the Kingdom in the everyday rhythms of the Southern Oregon Coast.

For over 20 years, Michael has served Churches of God in both local congregations and regional leadership. He has a deep heart for pastors and leaders—helping them discover who they are in Christ, grow in confidence, and step more boldly into their calling. He thrives on preaching, designing Kingdom-shaped strategies, and creating tools that resource the Church.

Michael has been connected to 3D Movements since 2010 and serves as a coach, consultant, and communicator. He has coached leaders across the U.S. and Canada, guiding them through Huddles, Workshops, and Learning Communities focused on discipleship and mission.

As part of the Church of God Northwest team, Michael develops resources, strengthens digital communication, and contributes to strategic leadership across the region.

When he’s not coaching or creating, you’ll find him enjoying the best of the Oregon Coast—crabbing, fishing, hunting, mushroom foraging, or tending to the family homestead ranch’s pigs, sheep, and chickens.

Chris Crenshaw will our worship leader . . .

Chris was born and raised in Vancouver, Washington, which is still his home. I grew up in a Christian household and attended King’s Way Christian School from 1st to 12th grade. After graduating from high school, I felt the Lord’s call on my life to pursue vocational ministry as a worship pastor. I led teams at several churches in the Vancouver/north Oregon area until I landed at Vancouver Church in 2021. This was a bit of a homecoming for me, as Vancouver Church & King’s Way were joint organizations when I was in school, and though they are now separate entities, they still share the same campus, where I get opportunities to engage with students and occasionally help lead worship for their chapels. It is an honor for me to lead the worship teams here at VC. I’m coming up on 5 years here, and I’m grateful for what the Lord has done and excited for what He is going to do at VC over the next several years.

In July of 2023, I married the love of my life, Autumn, who happens to be a 1st grade teacher at King’s Way. We live in Vancouver with my elderly parents, whom we care for, as well as our three cats, Odin, Freya, & Pippen. When I’m not working, you’ll find me making music with friends, taking little day trips to the beach with my wife, and (as often as I’m able) playing golf.

Be sure to print out the registration form and mail it in with your deposit.  You will receive a $25 discount if your registration is postmarked by August 15th.  (We continue to register by mail because there is an extra fee if you register online.)
